Scope This policy applies to services supplied by Rise and Lume Ltd, Company number 16767876. Cooling off and cancellation. For consumers purchasing remotely, you have a statutory right to cancel within 14 calendar days of service confirmation, where distance selling rules apply. If you cancel within this period and we have not started work we will refund amounts paid within fourteen calendar days.
When work starts:
Work is considered started when Rise and Lume Ltd has begun editorial design, formatting, distribution, submission, or any other billable production activity, and this has been confirmed in writing by email or a signed project plan. Once work has started, the statutory cooling-off period no longer applies to the work already performed.
Refunds after work starts:
If deliverables materially differ from the agreed scope, we will remedy the defect or provide a reasonable pro rata refund for unperformed work, excluding non-refundable third-party fees. Refund decisions are issued within fourteen calendar days of a written refund request
How to request:
Send a written request to info@riseandlume.co.uk with your invoice number, description of the issue, and preferred remedy. We will acknowledge receipt within five business days and reply with a proposed resolution within fourteen calendar days.
Third-party fees:
Third-party fees such as ISBN registration and platform distribution charges paid on your behalf are generally non-refundable. If a third party refunds fees to us, we will pass the refund to you, less any reasonable administrative costs.
Dispute resolution:
If we cannot agree on a resolution, you may contact Citizens Advice or the relevant alternative dispute resolution body for consumers in the United Kingdom
